Description: They sit in the kitchen, unaware of the view of a stranger lingering in the threshold; there to see old friends but hesitant to interrupt the moment between husband and wife. A documentary about preservation efforts in Somalia continues playing on a laptop left open, it’s volume low and turned away from the pair. It is lost to them. The far away world no longer matters, and even their own world fades away as they get lost in each other. Appliances and dishes disappear in the kitchen beside their table. The wall they are blind to transforms into a tropical forest: heat, vibrancy, and lushness of love. The remaining things stay because they are seen, heard, felt. The unspoken emerging from the objects too large for lovers to ignore.
