Lost Connection to Nature A long time ago when humans had a deep connection with nature, fish were once deities and prestigious beings, full of magic. They presented blessings upon those who needed them and guided them to safety. Unfortunately mankind became greedy and the fish disappeared. Until one day, a girl in need of a miracle goes out to find the secret sanctuary where the fish were once worshiped. All she needs is a blessing to save her family from tragedy...
The image I chose is made from the illustrator, Wenjun Lin. Shown is a person on their knees facing a giant floating fish, hovering slightly over them. This image in particular reminded me of the scene in Luca, when Luca dreams of him and Alberto riding a vespa into the night sky, reaching their hands out to touch the “fish” in the sky. It’s very out of this world and dreamlike to see unconventional occupy a space, which is something I’d like to explore along with focus on composition, which drew me to this image in the first place.

The Grass Lands' Deity I came across Reynier Llanes' work on Instagram, through another account that had posted one of his paintings. I thought about choosing the first one I came across, "The Poet", where it was a thinly veiled human in a beautiful patch of flowers, but after looking at his website I felt drawn to this painting, "Yolanda".
My mini-story is that the large cow is the guardian deity of the grass lands, sworn to protect the fields and its inhabitants. The man lounging in the front is the head angel of the jurisdiction and he occasionally pops in to check on the deity. The two men golfing must be trespassing and the deity has had enough, the angel will let the deity do as it pleases.

Skin, Or Surface They sit in the kitchen, unaware of the view of a stranger lingering in the threshold; there to see old friends but hesitant to interrupt the moment between husband and wife. A documentary about preservation efforts in Somalia continues playing on a laptop left open, it’s volume low and turned away from the pair. It is lost to them. The far away world no longer matters, and even their own world fades away as they get lost in each other. Appliances and dishes disappear in the kitchen beside their table. The wall they are blind to transforms into a tropical forest: heat, vibrancy, and lushness of love. The remaining things stay because they are seen, heard, felt. The unspoken emerging from the objects too large for lovers to ignore.

Italian Landscape with Umbrella Pines The painting was made in the late afternoon in 1807 by dutch painter Hendrik Voogd when he was in the Villa Borghese in Rome The Villa Borghese.
Villa Borghese of Rome is one of the largest urban parks in Europe.
The State acquired the gardens from the Borghese family in 1901.
Originally the villa was ordered by a cardinal in order to gather his Art collection.
What I like with this painting is that the panoramic view and the the crepuscular light bring me a melancholic feeling.
I also like the idea a giant garden filled by pieces of art.

Impression au soleil levant (Impression, Sunrise) The sun rises and its sheet of light covers the sky in a gradation of colors, making the distant mystery of the hundreds of starry night lights disappear little by little. It makes the horizon take shape, and my world of thoughts, limited but infinite, solitary but comforting, slowly gives way to that of reality.
The peaceful dark and dreamy cloud formed by the sea is split in two by bright colors that soon fill it in its entirety. Each of its waves lights up to form a set of small moving flashes on its surface. While the fishermen invade the harbor, the machine starts again and life resumes.
The sun rises, but my light goes down.
